The global interest that requires reduction of our carbon footprint, was the foundation for my development of a sustainable, local, and innovative design thinking around shoemaking.
The Botten* shoe is manufactured by the customer, in their own kitchen or anywhere they happen to be, by recipe composed of easily obtainable organic materials.
After long research surrounding traditional organic adhesives, I developed a mixture based on gelatin and crushed peanut-shell from my local grocery store.
The mixture is casted into a 3d printed mold, designed around the unique anatomical shape of the customer's feet.
